As directed by the Senior Vice President of Communications, the Project Manager, Communications plans, manages, implements, and delivers on communications goals and products for key projects of the National Council.


Position Duties and Primary Responsibilities:


CIHS Communications Management (80%)

  • Manage development of materials for SAMHSA-HRSA Center for Integrated Health Solutions (CIHS) (e.g., issue briefs, emails, reports, newsletters, webinar announcements, subcontractor-produced materials), including maintenance of a comprehensive editorial calendar, completion of necessary forms, careful tracking of feedback from multiple sources and ensuring timely dissemination.

  • Serve as editor for CIHS’ publications — overseeing scheduling, content generation, quality control, subcontractors, and working with team members on dissemination.

  • Oversee the content of the CIHS website to ensure fidelity to its intended function and high quality content curated for busy health care providers.

  • Serve as liaison between CIHS team and SAMHSA during migration of website to – advising on content development that serves CIHS’ key audiences.

  • Act as CIHS’ brand ambassador, ensuring consistency across materials and channels and with SAMHSA/HRSA/HHS identity standards.

  • Track and compile data to support efficacy and reach of CIHS communications activities and develop monthly and annual reports on outcomes for federal funding agencies.

  • Proactively communicate with federal project officers regarding status of CIHS communications activities.

  • Facilitate promotion of CIHS resources and activities across National Council activities and channels.

  • Complete annual required training as federal contractor (plain writing training, ethics, etc.)

  • Manage and delegate requests for communications support on other CIHS tasks, including editing of materials for special events, writing and editing of materials for grantees, creation of video and review of project reports.

Other (20%)

  • Write and edit a variety of National Council materials, including magazine articles, marketing emails, blog posts, fact sheets, and other items.

  • Collaborate with internal departments and help identify and meet their goals and needs.

  • Other duties as assigned.
