Position Summary

The Business Systems Analyst serves as the internal technical lead for the National Council’s core business applications and other related systems, including being the core team member responsible for the implementation of new National Council integrated systems, which will include the Microsoft CRM. As required the position will provide IT support for the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Serves as the lead internal point of contact between the subject matter expert, project manager and development resource/vendor for the National Council’s core business applications and other related systems
  • Perform analysis and constructs the documents with scope statements, business requirements, use cases, business process flows, and implementation needs to support the desired end-state
  • Interface with and act as a liaison between business stakeholders who have made the request and the IT team that is designing, developing, testing, and implementing the solution
  • Facilitate design reviews with the IT team and revises the design/requirements as needed based on scope, timelines, and technical feasibility feedback
  • Develop user acceptance test scripts and performs testing of new systems and/or functionality
  • Provide training on system functionality on core systems, as needed to internal stakeholders
  • Create, oversee, and catalog queries, reports, dashboard, pivot tables, and other reporting output to support business initiatives
  • Maintain policies and procedures for appropriate use of core business systems. Works in consultation with key users and partners to verify the security and integrity of all database systems
  • Work in consultation with key users and partners to determine frequency, timing, and planning related to system evolution, edits, and upgrades
  • Perform system functionality testing and quality assurance during specific upgrades or other initiatives
  • Work with key users, as needed, to identify, develop, maintain, or expand integration points between the association’s core systems
  • Assist in managing open issues and system functionality bugs and work with vendors and internal stakeholders, as needed, to resolve as they pertain to relevant projects
  • Attend change control meetings, work sessions, user focus groups, and weekly department meetings in order to stay abreast of ongoing system changes and business needs
  • Provide weekly status updates on assigned issues along with risk assessment
  • Perform knowledge transfer of system changes to end-users including participation in the development of system and user documentation

 

 

Other IT support:

  • Collaborate and coordinate projects with, project sponsor, project manager, database administrator and external resources
  • Collaborates with all levels of the National Council’s with strategic opportunities to advance the mission of the National Council
  • Participates on the association’s IT Best Practices Committee
  • As required, supports other IT initiatives of the organization

Required Qualifications

Education/Certification:

  • Master’s degree in Business or Information Management or equivalent experience

Additional Experience:

  • Minimum of 7+ years of progressively responsible experience in working with association management systems and minimum of 10+ years in IT-related filed
  • Prior experience working in or for an association / non-profit industry is required
  • Demonstrated experience working with association management systems or similar customer relationship management systems (Dynamics CRM 365)
  • Demonstrated recent experience in implementing new and emerging technologies and systems (i.e., AMS, FMS, LMS, website, social, project management/collaboration)
  • Demonstrated experience managing and supporting complex business applications built on relational database management systems such as Microsoft SQL Server 2008 or higher
  • Demonstrated experience in a business analyst role with ability to document process workflows
  • Experience with one or more of the leading business analytics / business intelligence / reporting packages, such as: Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Service (MSSQLSRS), SAP Crystal Reports, SAP Business Objects Enterprise, and / or similar products
  • Experience with data marts, data warehouses, and / or ETL is a plus
