The incumbent will function as a member of the Communications & Strategic Development team and will report to the Director of Communications, Policy, Practice Improvement, and Consulting

Job Location: Washington, DC

Position Summary:
As directed the Manager, Communications plans, manages, implements and delivers on communications goals for key Policy, Practice Improvement and Consulting projects. They assist in communication support and strategic development work of the Policy, Practice Improvement and Consulting department. This includes:
  • Developing communications and marketing plans
  • Writing and editing a variety of collateral materials, including articles, marketing emails, blog posts, social media posts, one pagers and fact sheets
  • Editing and posting web content
  • Conducting research
  • Provide logistical support for meetings
  • Offer general administrative support as assigned
  • Other duties, as needed

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelors’ Degree in Journalism, Communications, English, or related field
  • At least 6 years’ experience in communications in complex settings; strategic health care communications experience preferred
  • High level of expertise in writing, product development and management; project management experience preferred
  • Exceptional written, oral, interpersonal, and organizational skills
  • Outstanding interpersonal and customer service skills; ability to build relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders
  • High level proficiency in Microsoft Office—MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Experience with website technologies, WordPress preferred
  • Ability to contribute to a strong team-based environment
  • Results-oriented with a high attention to detail, ability to multi-task and meet deadlines in a demanding, fast-paced environment
  • Ability to travel up to 10
