Position Summary

The Coordinator, Business & Strategy is a new position being established to aid in the implementation of the organization’s Business & strategy efforts. We are looking for a passionate team member who enjoys creative thinking, is positive, proactive, inventive and efficient, and enjoys working with peers both internal and external to the organization. This is an excellent opportunity for someone interested in non-profit development and who is skilled at tracking and managing details, coordinating and supporting colleagues through structured processes, and working collaboratively with staff at all levels. This position will report to the Manager, Business & Strategy. Common activities for this position include: coordination of proposal development activities; scheduling internal and external meetings on topics related to business development; communicating with external stakeholders on behalf of the National Council; supporting data entry and tracking of department- and organization-wide outcomes; developing briefing documents or other background material for department and organization leadership. Applicants are not expected to have direct experience in all domains of the position’s responsibilities, although strong applicants should be able to speak to similar experiences and skillsets.

Responsibilities

Department Activities (90%)

Business Development Coordination

  • Actively seek information and context of National Council activities through communication and collaboration with internal colleagues
  • Track business development relationships and opportunities
  • Research market and field trends, as well as potential funders and partners, and produce background material and briefing documents.
  • Support the coordination of responses to formal funding opportunities, such as in response to government and nongovernment Request for Proposals, as needed
  • Support the Department with logistical and operational related tasks for in-person and virtual events.
  • Coordinate communication to potential and current funders through mechanisms such as email, listservs, phone/video calls, and in-person meetings.

Partner Management Coordination

  • Coordinate and participate in conversations with current and potential partners of the National Council
  • Under the supervision of the Manager, facilitate the onboarding of new National Council partners
  • Support the National Council’s Partnership Program and partner members by coordinating proper execution of deliverables and internal processes in support of these relationships
  • Track revenue/expenditures related to the Partnership Program

Communication & Coordination

  • Coordinate communication to potential and current funders through mechanisms such as email, listservs, phone/video calls, and in-person meetings.
  • Support the Department with logistical and operational related tasks for in-person and virtual events.
  • Business & Strategy email inbox – monitor the department’s general inbox to send inquiries to the appropriate point-person, answer basic questions and troubleshoot issues as appropriate
  • Provide data entry and tracking support to all National Council departments in their tracking of department- and organization-wide outcomes.
  • Coordinate meetings both within the Business & Strategy Department as well as across National Council departments

Other Organization Activities (10%)

  • Participates in department and all staff meetings
  • Travels on behalf of the National Council as needed
  • Carries out other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree; 2-4 years of relevant work experience
