Position Summary:

The Manager, Communications for Mental Health First Aid USA supports the marketing, communications and strategic development work of the National Council’s public education portfolio and is responsible for the success of projects as assigned, including:

  • Planning, developing, and implementing integrated marketing/communications strategies, creative designs and marketing collateral

  • Researching and analyzing data to help inform marketing and communications strategies

  • Managing production of creative projects, such as ads, infographics, videos, flyers and other collateral

  • Gathering and developing stories for use in marketing efforts and in media efforts

  • Writing and editing blogs, marketing emails, one-pagers and other written materials

  • Media relations, including crafting press releases, media advisories, media lists and pitches

  • Social media and community engagement

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelors’ Degree in Communications, Advertising, Journalism, English or related field

  • At least 4 years’ communications experience in complex settings; strategic health care and/or nonprofit communications experience preferred

  • Functional proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Premiere, Photoshop)

  • High level of expertise in writing, collateral development and management; project management expertise preferred

  • Exceptional organizational skills

  • Experience with website technologies; WordPress preferred

  • Experience with e-blast technologies

  • High level proficiency in Microsoft Office (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

  • Ability to contribute to a strong team-based environment

  • Results-oriented with a high attention to detail

  • Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines in a demanding, fast-paced environment

  • Ability to travel, approximately 5 percent
