Position Summary


This position is contingent upon award of a grant.

The Practice Improvement and Consulting Department (PIC) is central to the National Council’s goal of providing timely and meaningful technical assistance and consulting to community behavioral health organizations and other key stakeholders. As directed by the Director, Practice Improvement, the Project Coordinator supports the needs of the department through logistics and administrative support for various projects in a matrix environment, as well as assisting in the day-to-day operations of the department within the framework of the National Council's policy goals, priorities, and annual organizational work plan. We seek candidates who are positive, inventive, proactive, and efficient while maintaining an approachable and professional presence to internal and external audiences.

Responsibilities
PIC Department Activities:
  • Coordinating logistics for in-person and virtual meetings
  • Developing and monitoring of basic project outlines and workplans
  • Monitoring and reporting on project budgets and financial performance
  • Developing tools/templates/systems to support project goals in collaboration with other project staff
  • Anticipating project support needs, potential roadblocks, and collaborating with team members to complete tasks
  • Proactively communicate and liaise with subject matter experts, funders, consultants, project participants, and staff in other National Council departments
  • Supporting grants and contracts proposal development
  • Developing content about practice improvement initiatives for National Council’s network, such as writing announcements or descriptions in National Council e-newsletters or briefly synthesizing research about a specific topic
  • Responding to and tracking product and project inquiries
  • Responding to member requests for practice improvement-related information
  • Completing administrative tasks such as invoice processing, call notes, scheduling and materials preparation
  • Other duties, as needed
Organizational Activities – Participates in other National Council activities
  • Participates in department and all-staff meetings and trainings
  • Travels on behalf of the National Council as needed
  • Carries out other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field
  • At least 1-3 years of experience in customer service, administrative support, and/or project coordination; experience in behavioral health care or public health settings is preferred
  • High level proficiency in Microsoft Office and Office365—MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint, and Teams
  • Proficiency in virtual meeting/collaboration and project management software (e.g., GoToWebinar, AdobeConnect, Zoom, Higher Logic) preferred
  • Exceptional written, oral, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to quickly learn new software platforms and programs
  • Results-oriented with a high attention to detail
  • Ability to remain flexible, manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience in grant and proposal support preferred
  • Ability to travel up to 10%
